Impacting SMH Through Philanthropy and Volunteerism

We want to thank our community for their significant investment of time, energy, and resources, which continue to define our school. For 143 years, Saint Mary’s Hall has benefited from the generosity of our community. Thank you for impacting generations of Barons to come!

Below are just a few of the many ways your generosity made an impact on SMH last year:

  • Students hailed from 50 different zip codes in San Antonio and surrounding areas, strengthening our geographic pull.

  • SMH offers more than 100 courses, including 20 Advanced Placement courses, for Upper School students, providing breadth and depth to their academic careers.

  • The National Merit Scholarship Corp. recognized 23 members of the Class of 2022. Five were named National Merit Finalists, eight were named National Merit Commended Scholars, and ten were named National Hispanic Scholars. In addition, two are Valero Alamo Bowl Scholars.

  • One student earned a perfect score on the AP U.S. History exam.

  • More than 65 Presidential Volunteer Service Awards were given across all divisions last year, and Upper School students completed more than 13,000 hours of service.

  • SMH took first place at the Longhorn Classic for Speech & Debate.

  • One student was selected to perform in Texas All-State Orchestra all four years of high school, a first for SMH.

  • Upper school athletes combined for 91 TAPPS All-District, All-State, and Academic All-State Honors, and we had three State Champions in Swimming.

  • Six members of the Class of 2022 are playing college athletics.

  • Seventy-eight members of the Class of 2022 are attending 46 different colleges and universities in 21 states and four countries.

  • SMH awarded more than $2.2 million in tuition assistance to 18% of the student body, with an average award of $12,500 per qualifying student, to ensure qualified students have access to SMH, strengthening the experience for every student.

  • Of our 90 full-time teaching faculty on campus, 54 possess master’s degrees, and 7 possess doctoral degrees.

I am grateful for Saint Mary’s Hall because it provides a nurturing and safe community for my children, a true home away from home, where I know the faculty, staff and administration are always looking out for the best interests of the students. The SMH community has truly become our family.
