Dear SMH Community,
As we reflect on the 2020-2021 school year, our 142nd year, I want to express the collective gratitude of every member of the faculty, staff, and student body for the ongoing commitment of our Saint Mary’s Hall community. Last year proved to be like no other in recent memory, and yet, this was not the only pandemic our School has faced. We have overcome school closures throughout our long and storied history due to pandemics in 1903, 1918, and 1946. And as in the past, our students, faculty, and staff faced these challenges with grace and resilience and emerged stronger than ever before. It is our community that holds us up and strengthens all we do, and we remain ever optimistic, knowing we stand ready to lead the way.
The ongoing partnership we share is crucial to achieving our School’s mission of helping prepare our students to reach their full potential and find fulfillment in life. Barons are challenged to be critical thinkers and creative problem-solvers whether in the classroom, on the playing field, or in the art studio.
The investment of time, energy, and resources from our parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees allows us to go above and beyond to support our students and strengthen every program across divisions and campus. We are proud of all we accomplished last year:
Our community raised more than $1.08 million toward The SMH Fund, our annual fund and ongoing philanthropic priority.
More than 99% of our faculty and staff and 100% of our Board of Trustees made a gift.
More than 64% of our parents chose to make a gift to the school, a significant participation increase over the past two years.
Collectively, more than 30 Form Leaders led the way as volunteers helping connect our community to the mission of the School.
SMH donors and volunteers strengthen our culture of philanthropy, define our programs, and impact every student and faculty member. Thank you for joining with us to foster the work of Saint Mary’s Hall as we endeavor to equip the next generation of leaders who will make a positive impact on the world. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of faculty and Barons of all ages.
