Upper School Art Teacher in Exhibition

Sculpture/Design and Art History teacher Nate Cassie will have artwork included in two upcoming exhibitions.  Message & Bottle at Southwest Contemporary in Magdelena, NM, will feature new ceramic works that Mr. Cassie created this summer, as well as work by Ethel Shipton, Cassie’s wife, and work from New York-based Alejandro Diaz.  Message & Bottle opens Sept. 3rd.

Tangible/Nothing, at Ruby City in San Antonio, open Sept. 9th. The exhibit is a large group show of approximately 40 works by national and international artists and those with San Antonio and Texas ties. Cassie’s work will be one of the new acquisitions shown for the first time since it was purchased in 2015.  From the press release, “Tangible/Nothing explores how the invisible or the seemingly mundane can reveal great meaning… Ruby City will celebrate the exhibition with a free public opening reception on Friday, September 9, 2022, 5–8 pm, with a walkthrough featuring Gonzales and selected artists at 5:30 pm.  The exhibit will be on view until April 30th, 2023.’”
