SMH Speech and Debate Take 2nd Place in National Tournament

Earlier this month, the Upper School Saint Mary’s Hall Speech and Debate team competed at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC), hosted by Chanhassen High School in Minnesota. Saint Mary’s Hall placed 2nd overall with a total of 51 points! Kate Van Zandt (’23) received the 1st place championship in Prose Interpretation, Jonathan Tubb (’23) received 2nd place in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Kate Van Zandt also took home a 5th place trophy in Poetry. Congratulations to all the students (complete results below) who made the second-place ranking possible!
