SMH Appoints Joseph Muller as Director of Enrollment Management

After concluding a comprehensive nationwide search with DovetailED Talent Sourcing, Saint Mary’s Hall is delighted to announce the appointment of Joseph Muller as the new Director of Enrollment Management. He will officially assume his new title and role on July 1, 2025. 
 
Joe is no stranger to the SMH community, having served the School for 14 years in various leadership and teaching roles, most recently as the Associate Head of Admission & Enrollment Management. Throughout his tenure, Joe has demonstrated a remarkable ability to foster meaningful relationships and collaboration across all areas of campus life. His genuine collegiality and unwavering commitment to working alongside students, faculty, staff, and families have been integral to his success as a leader on campus. As a student-centered educator, Joe’s perspective is shaped by years in the classroom as an Upper School Speech and Drama teacher where he inspired students to discover their potential and strive for excellence. This foundation informs his work in the admission office, ensuring our practices and processes reflect our mission and our students’ growth as scholars, artists, and athletes.  
 
Joe holds a Master of Education in Independent School Leadership from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, and he brings a unique blend of expertise, vision, and passion to this critical role. Among his many accomplishments, he has helped personalize and modernize our approach to admission, retention, re-enrollment, and financial aid. His leadership and collaboration have driven critical retention and re-enrollment successes. In his new role as Director of Enrollment Management, Joe will oversee our comprehensive admission strategy and guide our efforts to attract, enroll, and retain a talented and diverse student body. He will also continue collaborating with colleagues across campus, leveraging his deep relationships to align enrollment goals with our School’s mission, values, and strategic plan.   
 
Joe expressed his excitement about this role, saying, “Saint Mary’s Hall is more than a workplace – it’s a community that inspires excellence and fosters belonging. I am honored to lead our enrollment efforts and build on our legacy of graduating exceptional students prepared to thrive in college and beyond.” 
 
Joe’s deep commitment to Saint Mary’s Hall’s mission is professional and personal. He is married to Jessica, a member of the Class of 2008, and they are parents to Rhea, class of 2039, and Ander, age 1.
