The Student Success Center, nestled in a corner of the Middle School Campus, is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student is empowered to take ownership of their academic journey. While students with learning differences have access to the resources they need to thrive, all students are encouraged to engage with both upper school and middle school learning specialists to advocate for their unique needs. Here are some of the ways all students can benefit from the Student Success Center:
- You’ve missed multiple days of school due to illness or extracurricular activities and need help getting back on track.
- You’re having difficulty navigating class technology and could use some guidance.
- Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are not your strong suit, and you’d like help with the writing/editing process.
- A big project was just assigned, and you’re feeling overwhelmed.
- You need help communicating with your teacher.
These are just a few of the many ways the Student Success Center supports our scholars. Emphasizing the importance of honing executive functioning skills is essential to content mastery. The Student Success Center Learning Specialists stress the connection between these executive functioning skills (organization, time management, prioritization) and academic success. This type of dexterity sets Saint Mary’s Hall students apart and will continue to serve them well beyond the four walls of a classroom.
