The priority application deadlines for the 2020-2021 school year are:

• Half-Day and Full-Day Montessori, Kindergarten, and
  Forms 1 - 8: February 7, 2020
• Forms 9-12: November 15, 2019

Applications received after these dates are always welcomed, but will be considered on a space-available basis.

Completed applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable $50 fee per applicant.

Please note that to begin Half-Day and Full-Day Montessori and Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, students should be the following ages by September 1, 2020:

• Half-Day Montessori, age 3 (must be toilet-trained by first day of school)
• Full-Day Montessori, age 4
• Kindergarten, age 5

Please submit a copy of your child's state-certified birth certificate.

Saint Mary's Hall requires that every student must be vaccinated against vaccine-preventable diseases caused by infectious agents, in accordance with the up-to-date Texas minimum state vaccine requirements for students Montessori to Form 12.

Saint Mary's Hall does not allow exemptions for reasons of conscience.

Applicants to Full-Day Montessori, Kindergarten, and Form 1 will spend a Saturday morning in small groups on campus working on activities in a classroom. We recommend that your child be at least two years and eight months to attend.

Forms 2-5 will spend Saturday morning working on a standardized achievement test to determine academic readiness.

Classroom visits for Full-Day Montessori – Form 5 Applicants will be held on:

• Saturday, January 11, 2020
• Saturday, February 1, 2020

The Office of Admission will contact you after your application has been received to reserve a place for your child on your preferred Saturday date.

The Office of Admission will contact you to schedule a visit after your application has been received. During the day visit:

• Applicants to Forms 2 - 5 are asked to spend a full day visiting classes in their Form level. Led by student guides, visitors participate in a variety of academic lessons and activities.
• Applicants to Forms 6 - 12 spend a full day visiting classes with student hosts. Our students wear a uniform each day, and we suggest that your child wear a dress, skirt, or slacks for girls and slacks or khakis for boys. Please refrain from wearing denim or flip-flops.

During the student day visit, candidates for Forms 6 - 12 will meet with the head or associate Head of Admission and Enrollment Management for a personal interview.

The Office of Admission will contact you to schedule an appointment with our Head of Admission and Enrollment Management after an application has been received.

Applicants to Half-Day Montessori will be scheduled for an on-campus developmental screening and an experience in a current Montessori classroom. We recommend that your child be at least two years and eight months to attend. The Office of Admission will contact you to schedule this visit after your application has been received.

Full-Day Montessori, Kindergarten, and Form 1: Candidates will take the WPPSI-IV, a cognitive assessment, with an outside licensed clinical psychologist at a cost of $290. Before an assessment can be scheduled, candidates must be at least two years and eight months old. Please access www.catstexas.com to request specific dates and register for testing.

Applicants to Forms 2 - 5 will take the WISC-V, a cognitive abilities assessment, with an outside licensed clinical psychologist at a cost of $290. Please access www.catstexas.com to request specific dates and register for testing.

Forms 6 - 12: Applicants are required to take the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). The ISEE is offered throughout the academic year at many locations in San Antonio and around the United States. While it is offered at Saint Mary's Hall, it is not mandatory to take the ISEE at our campus. Register online or visit www.iseetest.org for more information.

A progress report is required if your child currently attends daycare or preschool. The Records Release Form should be signed and given to your child's most recent school for release of records. 

Saint Mary's Hall requires an English Teacher Recommendation and Math Teacher Recommendation for applicants to Forms 6 - 12. Your child's current teacher(s) should complete each recommendation and mail or email them directly to Saint Mary's Hall.

When applying for Forms 6 - 12, the Administrator's Recommendation Form should be completed by a school administrator or guidance counselor at your child's current school and mailed or emailed directly to Saint Mary's Hall.

Saint Mary's hall requires an Extracurricular Recommendation for applicants to Forms 6-12. This should be completed by an adult other than an academic classroom teacher who has worked with your child recently in an activity or special interest enjoyed outside the classroom(e.g. arts, clubs, drama, music, sports, volunteer or paid work, etc.) and mailed or emailed directly to Saint Mary's Hall.

The Records Release Form should be signed and given to your child's current school, in addition to any other school your child has attended in the last two years.

All Montessori and Kindergarten applicants are required to provide a teacher recommendation form from their current teacher. All forms should be emailed or mailed directly from the teacher to Saint Mary's Hall.
