Surveillance Testing - Top 3 Things You Need to Know

The Goal of Testing: Given the rising numbers of positive COVID-19 results in our community and in an effort to identify asymptomatic individuals that may be COVID-19 positive and unknowingly spreading the virus, Saint Mary’s Hall is implementing a weekly COVID-19 Molecular Testing surveillance program in partnership with Your Health Lab, a clinical laboratory service that is working with several other Texas independent and public schools as well as private businesses.

Our faculty, staff, and any student opting for in-person learning and/or athletic involvement are required to get a weekly PCR test. While the testing is only a snapshot in time and cannot guarantee that we will not have a positive case on campus, this extra layer of mitigation can help reduce the spread of COVID-19 while we continue to follow all the safety precautions and mitigation strategies already in place.

Campus Testing Process

  1. Testing for students and employees will be offered every week on Monday and Thursday from 7:45am-1:45pm on campus. No appointment is necessary. Students and employees must test weekly. Student-athletes will test both Monday and Thursday.

    • Monday: 7:45am-1:45pm, East Wing of the Coates-Seeligson Theater/Chapel

    • Thursday: 7:45am-1:45pm, East Wing of the Coates-Seeligson Theater/Chapel

  2. Your Health Lab will provide test results to Saint Mary’s Hall 24-48 hours after testing. We will update the data on the SMH COVID-19 Dashboard bi-weekly.

  3. You will only hear from the school if your test was positive. If you are not contacted within 48 hours after your original test date and time, your COVID-19 surveillance test result was negative, and you are clear to access campus the following week.
