Overview
Tennis Program Overview
The tennis program at Saint Mary’s Hall has a tradition of competing at a high level. There are a few factors that contribute to this strong history. The coaching staff has extensive experience as former players, currently competing players and USPTA certified instructors. This combination provides an environment that challenges all levels of play. The Saint Mary’s Hall tennis program is grown form the Montessori age up to the varsity level. Tennis clinics, classes, and summer camps, are offered year round. We have a strong middle school team that is very competitive with other local private schools. The fundamentals, mechanics, and strategy are taught at every level of the game. The Saint Mary’s Hall student athlete manages time for both practice and academics. This tool is carried over to the college level. There is a multitude of Saint Mary’s Hall former tennis players that have competed at the collegiate level. These universities include, MIT, Lafayette College, Chapman University, The University of Texas, The United States Air Force, Trinity University, Middlebury College, Sewanee University, and Dartmouth College, to name a few. The most emphasized aspect of the game is etiquette and sportsmanship. Tennis is a lifetime sport, that offers life skills for each student athlete.
