Tennis Program Overview

The Saint Mary’s Hall tennis program has a long-standing tradition of competing at a high level while developing student-athletes to be the best version of themselves on and off the court. This history is rooted in a vertically aligned program, experienced coaching, and a commitment to teaching the game the right way—from the earliest stages through varsity competition. The program is led by coaches who bring an elite playing and coaching background to Saint Mary’s Hall. Their leadership ensures Saint Mary’s Hall tennis is grounded in proven player development, competitive excellence, and long-term growth. Tennis at Saint Mary’s Hall is intentionally grown from the Montessori level through varsity, providing continuity in instruction and philosophy. Year-round offerings include tennis clinics, after-school training, and summer camps, ensuring consistent development and access to the sport. The Middle School program is particularly strong and consistently competitive with other local private schools, serving as a critical bridge to Upper School success. At every stage of development, players are taught fundamentals, mechanics, match strategy, and decision-making, while learning to balance academic and athletic responsibilities. Time management and accountability are emphasized as essential skills that carry forward into college and beyond. Saint Mary’s Hall has a proud history of tennis players competing at the collegiate level, with alumni continuing their careers at institutions such as MIT, Lafayette College, Chapman University, The University of Texas, the United States Air Force Academy, Trinity University, Middlebury College, Sewanee, and Dartmouth College, among others.
