Football Program Overview
Saint Mary’s Hall football is set to begin a new chapter as we move into our fifth varsity year and begin the transition into the talented-rich and prestigious TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF PRIVATE AND PAROCHIAL SCHOOLS (TAPPS), that spans throughout the entire state of Texas. This is an exciting and monumental phase of the program. Saint Mary’s Hall football also has a competitive middle school team that begins at form six. Saint Mary’s Hall football encourages players, of all skill levels and experience, to join the team and the only requirements are a willingness to learn, to remain physically and mentally tough, and to be prepared to work extremely hard. We have created an atmosphere and environment that affords the members of the team an enjoyable experience while staying true to the discipline and dedication it takes have success in football and in life. As a result, whether you play during your Upper School career or continue to play at the next level, you will have a valuable experience that will follow you wherever you go in life. If your ultimate goal is to continue playing football in college, there is no better place than Saint Mary’s Hall to prepare academically and athletically. The coaching staff works closely with the college counseling department, the student-athlete and their family, to find the best possible collegiate program to fit the academic and athletic needs of the collegiate bound athletes of Saint Mary’s Hall. The Baron football coaching staff believes wholeheartedly in building character and always striving to be a champion on the field and in the classroom and community. Our goal is to inspire standards of excellence while the student-athletes are competitive members of the football team that will grow with them as they move forward into everyday life. On the field, the offense and defense requires every member of the program to work with a relentless tenacity, requiring maximum effort from beginning to end of each play, each day, and every season. Schemes are designed to take advantage and maximize individual skills and talents for the overall success of the team and a “team-first” concept that is learned on the football field, will be carried over into all that is done. Baron football is a program on the rise with a very bright future ahead. We are confident all of the pieces are in place for success, and the focus this season is to build strong and ever-lasting traditions that the community can be proud of for years to come. Simply put, it’s a great time to be a Baron.
