With our 2021-2022 COVID-19 Campus Mitigation Strategies, our goal is to deliver our full, in-person program for all three divisions while utilizing appropriate protocols that keep students and faculty safely in the classroom, on the playing fields, and in the art studios.
Our SMH Health & Safety Task Force continues to meet regularly and to guide our planning for our return to school. The task force, composed of school administration, members of our board of trustees, and medical experts from our parent community, holds a substantial, vested interest in our school’s success and the wellbeing of our students. We continue to monitor local, state, and federal guidelines regarding COVID-19. We are also closely reviewing information released from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Association of School Nursing, and San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, among others. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued updated guidance for schools, including the recommendation for all students and employees regardless of vaccination status to wear masks indoors in public in areas of substantial or high transmission.
To provide our community with the specifics regarding our protocols, we have revised our COVID-19 Campus Mitigation Strategies. We rely on the partnership of our community to remain vigilant in following the health and safety measures we have in place. As the school year progresses, these mitigation strategies will be updated and adjusted as needed to respond to changes in the pandemic.
